Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Farro, a cooking app available at www.getfarro.com and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Farro. If you are between 13 and the age of legal majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the consent of your parent or legal guardian. The Service is currently intended for use by individuals in the United States.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or if your use of the Service creates risk for Farro or other users.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or training data from the Service.
• Use automated means (bots, scripts) to access the Service except through interfaces we provide.
• Submit content that is illegal, infringes others’ rights, or violates our community standards.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, abuse the AI features, or otherwise impose disproportionate load on the Service.
• Use the Service to develop a competing product.

Recipes and cooking guidance generated by Farro are produced by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. The Service may suggest ingredients, quantities, cooking times, or techniques that are inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation.

You are responsible for verifying that the food you prepare is safe for you and anyone you serve.This is especially important if you or your guests have food allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, or sensitivities. Always read ingredient labels, confirm cooking temperatures meet applicable food-safety guidelines (for example, the USDA’s safe minimum internal temperatures), and discard any food that appears spoiled or unsafe.

Farro is not a substitute for medical, nutritional, or dietary advice from a qualified professional. Nothing in the Service constitutes medical advice.

You retain ownership of the content you submit to Farro (for example, the dishes you describe, the messages you send to the cooking assistant, and the notes you add to your profile). By submitting content, you grant Farro a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and process that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service — including by sending relevant portions to our AI model providers so they can generate responses for you.

You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to submit it.

The Service, including the Farro name, logo, software, and the non-user-generated content within the app, is owned by Farro and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Farro is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also limit access to certain features, apply rate limits, or stop offering the Service entirely. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when we can.

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account by emailing us at ryanvolpi@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-resolution terms) will survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Farro disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or safe.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Farro, its operators, and its service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or food-safety incidents — arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In any case, our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or (b) the amount you have paid to Farro in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Farro and its operators from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Farro consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of the page and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
