Fully vegan restaurants in Boston
Every restaurant in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline where the whole menu is vegan, plus 10 more worth a longer trip.
Recently closed: Lulu Green (South Boston) and Main Street Juice (Mansfield).
There's something special about going to a fully vegan restaurant: the freedom to turn off your investigative instincts, the near-overwhelm of having dozens of dishes instead of one or two, and the level of effort and care that goes into the plant-based food. Boston is no vegan utopia, but it does have a good number of fully plant-based restaurants! This is the most comprehensive and up-to-date list of all of them in and around Boston.
The list only includes restaurants where everything is vegan, so vegetarian spots like Veggie Galaxy and Life Alive aren't here, even though they're great for vegans.
Boston
Boston has eight, from Allston to Chinatown. Two of them are in Allston, about a block apart near Packard's Corner, which makes it the easiest neighborhood in the city to eat fully vegan.

Grasshopper
Allston · Chinese
A huge Chinese and Vietnamese menu where the mock meat does a lot of the work: vermicelli bowls with vegi-pork, chow foon, curry coconut noodles, lo mein. If you miss Chinese takeout, start here. On Sundays they run a buffet, and the plate below was my $16 dinner.
